kaleb Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I'm terribly sorry about your loss. I bet he would have been a great companion! Life is a ***** sometimes. To all of us. You got your family and the forums to help you thru the sorrow (and ME. The comic relief! Not really....) My condolences to you and your family.
buliwyf Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 pumpkin, this is buliwyf's wife writing. I was so sorry to hear what happened to Slash. It is devastating to go through that whole breeding process with the breeder and then lose the puppy once you get it home. I know of someone who went through something similar a couple of years ago, but in that case the whole litter (eagerly anticipated Irish wolfhounds) of 9 was lost to what was declared to be "fading puppy syndrome". We can't know if there is any rhyme or reason to what happens, but you have to find a positive spin to keep sane. Maybe Slash was the sacrifice so that the rest of the litter will be strong. Maybe the universe wants someone who can care enough to foster (something that is in high demand in the rescue world). Or maybe Angus just neede Slash more than you do. All that being said, this is the reason I never had any desire to breed - I don't think I could stand losing a puppy. Sincerest condolences to you and the breeder both.
LPguitarman Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 OMG, Sorry for your loss again Pumpkin. Very tragic. Any chance of getting one of the other pups in the litter?
rct Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I am sorry for your loss. I have no words of wisdom, I'm older than that now, I'm just pissed off. rct
pumpkin Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 I always try to reply to each post individually, but I just don't have it in me right now... I'm sorry. I'm also sorry to those of you who have posted your own experiences of loss. My heart goes out to you. I wish I knew why this happened... I've thought of a million things... Maybe so my kid will grow up and discover a cure? Maybe so that she wouldn't go on a planned trip to San Antonio this past weekend... Maybe something would have happened had she gone? Maybe my husband or i will get ill soon and we won't be able to care for him? Who knows... It just hurts because he was really wanted, anticipated, and needed after losing Angus. Your replies have brought tears to my eyes and I'm so thankful yall have taken the time to reply. I know I'm never on here & only popped in to ask a question about Angus Youngs SG... Then happened to post about getting Slash that next week. Thanks again y'all... <3
Guest rogerb Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 That is a heartbreaker...adorable puppy! Very sorry you lost him.
