T50
Gents I have a Marschall JCM 2000 DSL 401 combo with 3 channels. I bought it used and have been using it for over a year now. Recently, the sound started to go out after playing a few minutes. Now, no sound would come out at all when I turn it on. I also notice that one of the 2 buttons on the foot pedal won't turn off either. (button #2) What is wrong with the amp? Need new tubes? $$$? Homz
try going to the Marshall web site and getting the owners manual; assuming it is there. The lights may be an indication of a specific condition.
Thundergod
...hm... maybe you need new tubes but you better ask in the marshall forum (if there is one...). I guess some of the marshall users here will pop in and tell you what to do...

surfpup
Tubes rarely just crap out - especially in pairs or quartets. You should take it to a tech for diagnosis. Or if you want to die, just poke around inside to see what you find! :D

Spook
I would take it to a tech but it sounds like an output tranny
Murph
EL34's can die instantly. I don't know what's in yours, but I had an early JCM900 4100 w/EL34's. It would eat them about one per year. Murph,
T50
Gents I just got my amp back from the repair shop, and it works better than ever! The problem was the heat generated by the tubes. I had the circuit board re-soldered, got a new foot switch, a new reverb pan, and installed a fan. I had it done at Fuchs Audio Tech (http://www.fuchsaudiotechnology.com/) in Clifton, NJ. Nice people and courteous service. They have some nice amps.
