Rabs Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 This was up on the LP bit, but I thought it warrented further exposure :) Its Mini Humbucker time :D On Andertons http://www.andertons.co.uk/News/aid1376/gibson-announces-70s-tribute-les-paul-sg-and-firebird.asp. And looks like they will all be available in lefties too :) http://leftyfretz.com/gibson-firebird-studio-left-handed-guitars/
Lazerface Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Dont have a mini hb lp. This, perhaps, warrants one.
GuitarBuilder Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I like the idea of mini HBs, but I'm not sure about the Maple necks - why not Mahogany?
Zeppelinguy Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I like the mini-humbuckers. That's about all. Satin silverburst finish.... No thanks.
Sinner 13 Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I like the idea of mini HBs, but I'm not sure about the Maple necks - why not Mahogany? Because that's what Gibson used in the 70's, Hence the moniker and choice of materials.
rct Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Want a volute because it was cool and vintage? Volute is bad awful worst thing Norlin ever did? Man, I need a Guitar Sales Program to keep up with it all. rct
Texasbluezman Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I'll take a sunburst Firebird & a goldtop LP please.
Stooge Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Like that SG in silverburst quite a lot, I feel some GAS coming on.....Pfffttt!
Mark Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I'll take a sunburst Firebird & a goldtop LP please. My thoughts exactly.
T Bone Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Are these available in the US too? I like the looks of that Firebird too, couldn't find them on Gibson's site (did find the other model they still have there though, and some used examples on eBay, but they are way more than these).

Yes im sure they will be.. Andertons are just really quick at getting this info up... I think that the dealers get Gibson news letters and decide to put the info up themselves, sometimes its months before it comes up on the Gibson site..
Rabs Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 Up on the main site now :) (whats with the black background?) http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Firebird/Gibson-USA/Firebird-Studio-70s-Tribute.aspx http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/SG/Gibson-USA/SG-Special-70s-Tribute.aspx http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Studio-70s-Tribute.aspx
