If you could have any guitar in the world.....

For practical reasons, some sort of Jackson super Strat. That'd give me an HSS pickup configuration. I'd probably go for a vintage style trem or a hardtail though as I don't have enough patience for Floyd Rose trems.

For not-so practical reasons, probably some sort of original Zemaitis like Ron Wood played but one without the shell front.

Funny thing is, I actually have the ones I want. Chose the Les Paul first, of course.

Then went back and got this one later:

100% tone happy atm!

(until I hear something in my head I can't get out of this gear LOL!)

From a collectors point I would take an original 1958 proto-type Gibson Moderne

For fun.... Peter Framptons LP Deluxe he played on Frampton Comes Alive. That guitar was destroyed in a plane crash in South America. I think Larry Carlton's original ES-335 would be cool or Randy Rhode's first Les Paul, or SRV's No. 1 strat.

hmmm any guitar....I think I would take one of the hello kitty squires. If I can rock a crowd with one of those, just imagine what I could do with damn near any other guitar...

but seiriously I would probablly want a Trent Reznor Custom Les Paul. I love the fragile art work that were on those.

The guitar featured on Frampton Comes Alive is a Les Paul Custom, not a Deluxe. It was a 1954 Custom that had been routed for humbuckers and a middle pick up installed. The original was supposedly lost in a plane crash as you mention, and that is the official story by Gibson and by Peter. However, I have heard that a luthier working for Pastore Music in New Jersey had actually customized a 57 Custom for Peter by adding a middle pickup and shaving down the neck. He said the original was actually sold in the 80s after Peter had lost money due to poor album sales and a not so trustworthy manager. The plane crash story sounds a bit more rock and roll. I don't know for sure which story is true, but I have no reason to belive that Peter would lie. He seems to be a pretty good guy and in his story about the guitar he says how sad he was that people lost their lives in the crash more so than the guitar he lost. Look at this post:

Frampton's Custom

I have a Frampton Custom and it is a very nice guitar and very unique. To have a Custom that is only a little over 8 lbs with a 60s neck and third pickup is a very nice combination of features not to be found on any other Custom.
