ballcorner
Hercules. The best stand you can buy. Doesn't react with the finish, can take a serious beating (sans guitar, of course) and is beautifully designed to fold down into the most compact possible space. If you want wall hangers as well, the Hercules are incredible.
John Lee Walker
Totally agree with the Hercules stands, they are awesome. If you want decorative and fancy, tho, I like the maple Taylor stands. There was a guy on evilbay about a year ago selling his stands and they were real nice - decorative rosewood with the grain burned out, very sturdy, and even had a stash box drawer, apothecary style, for picks, capos and whatnot. Just about the time I decided to buy one he disappeared and haven't seen him since. Now and then I Google 'wooden guitar stands' and some cool ones pop up - Silver Creek, Gruven, etc. I have the Taylor, but I get pangs of guilt putting a Gibson on it for some unexplainable reason...
