If Clapton did his Unplugged show on a Gibson ..

Really talented guy and his friend is good too. Not only do these guitars sound better than Eric's 000 but having them miked helps. EC has the worst sounding pickup in that guitar. He may as well play an Ovation with that sound.

Who needs Clapton on a Gibson when there is plenty of stuff out there with Jorma and his J-50 and even a Starburst. Clapton is a great technical player but on acosutic lacks something which I can't describe but which I do hear with a guy like Alvin Youngblood Hart.

I will have to watch the videos later when I am not at work, but I am glad that Clapton did not use Gibsons in his Unplugged concert. It would have made the prices of vintage Gibsons go up, and I for one am glad that they are reasonably affordable!

it is not the guitar as much as the player playing the guitar. A Great player can make a cheap guitar sound good and a bad player makes a great guitar sound bad.

Or, as a friend of mine used to say: "Robert Johnson never owned a Strat".
