Ian Martin Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 DAMN!!! TOUGH choice! As of this second, I would have to say the original Non-Reverse. Reasons: 1.) You rarely ever seen them played, thus it seems more unique to me. 2.) The Reverse is like a '60s version of the Explorer. 3.) My wife won't let me buy a Reverse, EVER. She claims they are ugly.
Thundergod Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 reverse' date=' AXE plays one :P ...[/quote'] +1 And the non reverse looks to STRATty
Homz Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I've never played one. Not trying to be a di*k but, I never wanted to. I would like to say; on the subject of Gibson reverse guitars. The Reverse V and the Reverse Explorer are among the ugliest guitars ever. I think the guys in the shop got a huge laugh out of those monsters. "Hey guys I have an Idea lets release this ugly monster just to see how many people will actually buy one".
myspace.com/jessenoah Posted November 16, 2008 Author Posted November 16, 2008 the regular firebird is killer explorers, reverse firbirds, reverse explorers, AXE's explorer, columbus the explorer, the ford explorer, space exploration, and any combination of any thoose..................................
RichCI Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Revers, a la Johnny Winter. And Nikki Sixx style basses.
Tim Plains Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I love the reverse birds, but can't stand these ones. No offense to anybody.
saturn Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 It's ironic that the original Firebird was itself was considered a reverse of the "normal" style when it came out.
daveinspain Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Both ugly as hell.... Thats just me though...
L5Larry Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Reverse. looked at and played many non-reverses during my Firebird search of the mid-seveties, but i had to have a reverse. Here's a pic of the '64 I used to have.
HeadCase Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I wouldn't even consider playing a non-reverse.
Ian Martin Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 *winces* C'mon lil' Non-Reverse Firebird...I know you can win this poll...c'mon fella...you can do it...
GuitarJunkie Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Although I love 'em both, and a custom color, P90s, a Maestro would go a long way towards improving the chances of the non-reverse... I still have to vote reverse. There's something about a pelham blue VII that gets me tingly every time. I voted for reverse based on the assumption it was one of those "if you could only have one" type questions. But, as we all know...
GuitarJunkie Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 On second thought, before hitting the button to vote I went to Photoshop for a few minutes and tried another color. I'm voting non-reverse...
Thundergod Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 beautiful birds guys... anyone else got pics?
Tim Plains Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 The non-reverse reminds me too much of a Fender Jag. Even though Cobain played them, I never liked the guitar.
Cruznolfart Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I've never played one. Not trying to be a di*k but' date=' I never wanted to. [/quote'] I gotta laugh at this. I've had similar thoughts regarding the infamous Asian "Made in USA Gibson" guitars of ebay fame. Enough horror stories about people getting ripped off for thinking they could buy a Gibson for one tenth its normal value and you'll have a steady stream of loyal genuine Gibson customers wanting to be sure they get the real deal...no matter HOW much it costs.
SRV-Zeppelin Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I prefer plain old non-reverse. Never been a big firebird fan though... although I wouldn't mind a studio in black.
Ian Martin Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 THIS guitar has me wanting to sell one of my current ones in order to buy it: Needs a black pickguard, then it'd be perfect. This guitar screams 'utilitarian workhorse from yesteryear.'
