Ian Martin Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Ha! Good luck, you're thunder****ed! I busted one clean off my SG once due to excessive rocking out; had to buy a whole set.
Thundergod Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 maybe on ebay... people sell all kind of things there... I saw a guy trying to sell a fake gibson the other day... figure that out...
retrosurfer1959 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Find a local shop or tech near you and see what they have in their spare parts bin . every repair guy has a box of leftover crap from previous repairs.
Les Paul Fanatic Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Find a local shop or tech near you and see what they have in their spare parts bin . every repair guy has a box of leftover crap from previous repairs. Local music store should have spare. Oh and Retro I dare ask is that a PRS in your avatar pic, top row third from the left.
zepsg61 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 +1 on the local shops. You can try calling Gibson too. I broke one off of my SG61RI and got a new one through the Gibson 800 number. They sent me the wrong one three times, but on the fourth try I got the right one.
modoc_333 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 which string is it? it's on the treble side of the headstock then the chance of finding one in a shop is pretty low. everyone always tears up that side.... i guess b/c the drop the guitar and that's the side that hits. if it's the bass side, then you have a really good chance of finding a single.
Tim Plains Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Oh and Retro I dare ask is that a PRS in your avatar pic' date=' top row third from the left.[/quote']My guess is he has one of everything on that wall...
retrosurfer1959 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Retro I dare ask is that a PRS in your avatar pic' date=' top row third from the left.[/quote'] You have good eye's and Yep it's one of the original pre-lawsuit Singlecuts. Nice guitar plays well and sounds good the finish is a really nice black and Tim be nice you don't have a lot of room to make fun of the number of guitars I own. p.s. Thunder before you say it I know I owe the forum some pics but I'm getting closer I finally bought a new camera this weekend instead of the old POS I've been using. this is not the new camera pic, perfect example of the old POS and why it's a POS
retrosurfer1959 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 PRS started the Singlecut line in 2000 but had to cease production 3 years later when Gibson filed a lawsuit against them claiming that the Singlecut was a copy ot the Gibson Les Paul. After a lengthy court process, the United States Court of Appeals reversed a lower court decision and ordered the dismissal of Gibson's lawsuit against PRS. Production started again in 2005 after the court of appeals said there was no way anyone could confuse the two guitars in a point of sale location (i.e. store) some people seem to think the pre lawsuit production PRS models are worth more but honestly there not, now it's really just a term to identify the 2003 and earlier models in the used sales market. I have one of each so I identify the pre-lawsuit and the post-lawsuit mostly to keep them seperated in my own mind kind of like the Black one Versus the Orange one. PRS has made a ton of the Singlecut's in numerous models after 2005 so it really kinda removed the whole limited number thing. I'm not sure if this is the same case with Ibanez or not I don't play Ibanez guitars, never even tried one, really can't for the life of me think why as I type this just never impressed me looks wise really.
rex3live Posted November 17, 2008 Author Posted November 17, 2008 That one is one bootiful guitar!!!!
