xtrustisyoursx
Hey guys, new here. I just got my guitar back from Joe Glaser here in Nashville. I had him completely shave all the finish off the neck of my Gibson SG, and it's FANTASTIC! It feels just incredible, and looks awesome. I had a question for you guys though. Although it feels great now, I'm worried that as I gig, it will start to feel bad from sweat and grime on the raw mahogany. Joe said he rubbed some wax into it, but I've read various conflicting opinions about using tru-oil, tun oil, or gunstock oil to further seal the neck. However, most of the these forum discussions I've read have regarded maple necks. What are your thoughts?
modoc_333
generally a sealant is sprayed on it..... however, Joe is pretty good and i trust him. i dont' know though...i would think you could wear the wax off.
