Axcess

It's been a while since I've taken a look at the Gibson Custom Les Paul Axcess Standard. I'm not trying to make this a sales pitch, but I like this guitar. Burstbucker's 1 and 2, Floyd Rose Tremelo, and locking nut are some of the features.

A lot of people pooh pooh them.

 

But most of them wouldn't know a sweep pick, from a toothpick if it jabbed them in the ***.

I played one for quite a while at the Arlington Guitar Show last month. I was pretty impressed with it. It played and sounded great, and the Floyd bridge did not feel awkward on a Les Paul either. The bar was a little thin feeling in my hand (I'm used to a Bigsby) but otherwise it was a darn fine guitar. I could see myself owning one.

I played one, I hated it.

Mostly because I am not skilled in the art of a Floyd Rose...at all

but the push-pull pot is cool and really good high fret access.

If I had the $$$$ I'd already have one... a shame it's the only neck-through LP.

Just so you know, there is ONE Axcess on eBay up for grabs...apparently brand new with a buy it now price of about 2,500 dollars! That's a great deal! And no, it's not me selling it. haha

I like this fiddle....Since I mostly use Les Pauls and I like the Floyd Rose tremolo it's a good match...it also saves you from having to carve up a perfectly good guitar.

I can't believe it took Gibson SO long to make this guitar happen. I bet they would of sold quite a few even in the 80s.

 

If I had the cash, I'd snatch one up for sure.

I'm undecided.

 

I'm just not a fan of the floyd. A les paul standard has everything I need.

 

I might try one though.
