High bridge height on my 56 reissue.

I had my 56 set up and am looking at it now. The bridge is set up pretty high. I just noticed that it looks like there is no base plate and the bridge is screwed directly into the wood. My Standard and studio seem to have plates to screw into. Without the plates it looks like a lot of stress on the wood? Anobody seen this before.

Your 56 has the ABR-1 bridge whereas your others have the Nashville bridge.

I'ts perfectly normal.
