Because n00b, no offense, but I'm not really sure people will care to tell you just how much they spent...unless it was a monster steal. Methinks that the people who aren't offended by telling you how much they paid simply won't care enough to answer. If you're looking to brag this probably isn't the place, but we do like to see pics of everyone's guitars and tell you how awesome they all are. So how about that instead? My (late) Dad paid $200.00 for my (used) '61 Melody Maker double cut, twin single coil that I sanded down in the late '70s to the SOLID 1 PIECE MAHOGANY BODY and had clear coated with poly. Dad's gonna loose. I paid MAP for all my new ones. I do own Scotty Stonemans 1933 A-00 Gibson Mandolin I bought from Gruhns. But even that was only $2000.00. Tim might win this. Murph. I personally have a major problem with people who buy really expensive toys (guitars included) for the express purpose of bragging about them. I brag about my Gibson of course, but I actually play it. Unless you got ripped off or acquired it illegally, it shouldn't matter how much you paid for your guitar, as long as you're happy with it.
