John Lee Walker
Hey y'all, I am looking for a good braided leather guitar strap. Found one a few weeks ago at the link I posted below, but there is no option to buy, and this artist has not responded to my numerous emails. I really like the braided leather one with the brass buckle, haven't seen one like it anywhere else. Does anyone have any good links, info, or sources for such a strap? I don't know what it is, but when I get to looking for something specific I am sorta like a hounddog with a gnawbone and I don't give up easily. Any help would be mucho appreciated... http://www.cattlepressleather.com/misc.html#x
guitarstrummer
Check out Sully's Straps. He has some of the best leather straps I've seen. Make sure to check out his vintage leather strap section. http://www.sullysstraps.com/index.html
Jinder
Jamie Hartling at Leathersmith Designs custom-tooled my strap for extra length, being as I am built like a brick outhouse and am 6'6" tall, and tooled in my name to order...it was very reasonably priced, too. Brilliant personal service, to (leather) boot! www.leathersmithdesigns.com

Jinder
hehehe my bamdmate Simon is the one who attracts the ladies in my band...he never speaks onstage, and is a bit skinnier than me-he has the 'silent and buff' thing going on that seems to attract female attention! I am getting married next year though, so it's probably for the best...although i've just had a much-needed haircut, so when we tour in Dec I might be fighting them off! onewilyfool
I see you guys are all into leather (our British brothers are more into latex) but I have one of these all wood guitars straps and they are very comfy, and no animals are hurt in the productions of these straps..... http://www.heartwoodes.com/

John Lee Walker
Thanks for the replies, guys. I really like the vintage straps at Sullys, nice work. Thanks for that link, strummer! Hey, Jinder, that guy does some nice work, too. I really admire his western series. One of those with a snakeskin insert would be cool. Thanks again - great links! ballcorner
You could try here at Levy's - they have an extensive inventory and many unique designs. http://www.levysleathers.com/2008%20Straps%20And%20Bags%20Catalog/Product%20Catalog.html
GibbyJoe
John Lee here is a good place for some straps. These are nice and they look like they are made well. If you don't like the head stock straps where would be the best place to put a strap knob on your acoustic for a regular strap?? www.eyelandenterprises.com
ltinspector
JLW, when it comes to straps, I've always loved the Waylon look!!
John Lee Walker
Yeah, I like that Waylon look, too. But, then, one of my hounddogs is named Waylon so what's that tell ya? I have a couple of the fancy tooled vintage Gretsch straps, a nice Red Monkey design strap, and a custom-made strap that I like really well, but all for electrics, basically. For my Gibson J200 I was looking for something rustic, vintage, braided, with some aged brass hardware. Kati (at www.cattlepressleather.com) finally got back to me and I am purchasing her strap ($250, but she has a great rep in the Austin scene). I think it will compliment this gorgeous guitar 100%. Thanks all for the great links. I bookmarked a couple of other straps for future consideration.
