MikeRom Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I give you ... the option knob http://tubedepot.com/p-option-knob.html
SRV-Zeppelin Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 wow... just when I thought human beings couldn't get any lazier
RichCI Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I don't think it's something for people who are lazy, but something for people who want to change an effect on-the-fly in the middle of a song. I could see using it to change delay time and chorus speed and similar.
MikeRom Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 Exactly, check out the vids. I don't know about you guys but my foot isn't all that dexterous, especially with shoes on.
Ian Martin Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Psssshhhhh...real men get down there and twist it with their teeth!
Riffster Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I saw this in a magazine. it looks dorky but I am sure it works. I would say a remote controlled delay pedal should be in the works.
retrosurfer1959 Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I just use old wooden clothespins not as cool but also not 7.95 I just took them off the neighbors clothes line 20+ years ago been using the same seven or eight since then
SRV-Zeppelin Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I still don't see why you would need to change your effects in the middle of a song... but I guess these products have their niche.
RichCI Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 MXR pedals used to come with these rubber caps that fit over the knobs (I think Dunlop still provides them). They worked well enough even though you'd always end up losing them. The only effect that I change during a song is my vibe pedal and I use an expression pedal for that to change the speed; kinda like going from a slow Leslie speed to a fast Leslie speed only it doesn't really sound like a Leslie. Booker T. changes the speed of his Leslie a LOT during songs, switching from slow for sustained chords and to fast for solos and faster parts.
surfpup Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Down here in Florida, we play barefoot. You can just wrap your toes around the knob and tweak it to your heart's content.
:oilpit: Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 MXR pedals used to come with these rubber caps that fit over the knobs (I think Dunlop still provides them). they do, and they work really well. That knob is a dumb invention, just buy all MXR pedals, it worked for Eddie and Randy
deepblue Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I think on a pedal with one or two knobs it would be ok, but anymore and itll start looking like a tiny wind turbine.
guitar_randy Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Exactly' date=' check out the vids. I don't know about you guys but my foot isn't all that dexterous, especially with shoes on. [/quote'] Me neither
