J.R.M.30!
Can someone name these chords: Root is E, Third is G#, Seventh is D and Nineth is F#? Second chord is same as above but with the sixth, instead of the seveneth being C#? Third chord is a Augmented version: (High E to Low D strings)G, C#, A and F? Fourth seems to be another Augmented version: (Low D to High E strings)G#, A, C# and F? Finally the Fifth chord is: (High E to Low D strings) Root is F, Fifth is C, Root, Third is A, followed by B and E? Sixth chord is: ( Low A to High E) Root D, Third F#, Then G, D, and E? Just thought of another: ( Low D to High E) Root is E, Third is G#, Then Eb, And F#?

J.R.M.30!
Thank you very much T-Bone for showing this site! Much Appreciated! By the way looks like the sixth chord isn't a chord at all! B)
rocketman
I'd say that the sixth chord is a Dsus4add9. --0--(9th) --3-- --0--(sus4) --4--(3rd) --5--(root) --x--
J.R.M.30!
Edit; I meant the fifth one isn't a chord, leave out E and its B7b5b9 (No 3rd)! The sixth could be a Dadd4 (add9)no.
jdgm
I'd say that the sixth chord is a Dsus4add9. --0--(9th) --3-- --0--(sus4) --4--(3rd) --5--(root) --x-- I would too. 1) E9 (E dominant 9). 2) E6/9. 3) F9#5 or Faug9 (F augmented 9). Needs Eb in the voicing. 4) Non-root F7#5 (F7 sharp 5) with (low) flatted or minor third/sharp ninth in voicing. Jazz guitarist Steve Khan uses this voicing in another key to open his solo in 'Little Sunflower' on his 'Let's Call This' CD. 5) Fmaj7#11. That's low to high, thick to thin strings - is that what you meant? 6) Dsus4add9. 7) Emaj9. Regards!

rocketman
Music theory is fun, just like math.
RaysEpiphone
I object.... On the grounds that it don't have the dot's on the page to show me where to put my fingers on the strings!! LOL!
rocketman
This is why I'm glad I studied piano before guitar. It forces you to learn theory. Guitar can be taught as patterns. Piano cannot.
