myspace.com/jessenoah Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 the funnest to play is rock-a-billy, country hick inbread oakie music but zeppelin style british blues rock is my favorite
Space Pup Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Half a bottle of gin, a guitar, and the blues. Now that's fun!
RichCI Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I haven't played in a metal band since the 80's but it's a really fun style to play - fast, loud, furious and very physical.
Murph Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Motown is fun. Bluegrass pickers are the best. I'll wait and vote later. Murph.
AXE® Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 country hick inbread oakie music Just like my Oklahoma born and raised mother writes and sings. Good to know. Thanks Jesse.
Taylor Player Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Most fun for me is blues.... can play it either acoustically or on the electric....(or both with my Boss Loop Station)
Ian Martin Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Country is always fun. So is punk, but like intense metal it gets a little too physical sometimes. Whatever I'm playing though, I try to have fun. No one wants to see someone play who isn't enjoying themselves.
myspace.com/jessenoah Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Just like my Oklahoma born and raised mother writes and sings. Good to know. Thanks Jesse. you say inbred like its a bad thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyKvD-4IxOY
Thundergod Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Blues... I play metal because I like it but I have to admit, it's more fun to listen to it... (that's why I will not go on tour with my band... the CD will be released for sale and that's it... unless of course there is lots of money involved, but what are the odds?). You want to have fun? Play blues. Or as jesse said, rock-a-billy...
Cruznolfart Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Depends upon the occasion. I remember gigs in the SF Bay area in the early 70's, where we were asked to play stuff ranging from Irish ballads to polkas to 60's hippie folk music. And they were a blast. That was a 3-piece oldies-but-goodies group, but we obviously covered a lot more ground than that. If I'm jammin' with buds or just noodlin' by myself I'm into Blues and classic Rock much of the time, with an occasional foray off into something different just for grins and giggles. Doesn't look like you'd have to look very far to find a Blues band anywhere you are; does it?
Tim Plains Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I voted other... Anybody watch the Chappelle Show? The funnest thing to play is the fight riff because it makes people go ******* nuts!!
djroge1 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Fun is in the mind of the person. For me fun can mean playing something that is a bit of a challenge - in that case I'd pick jazz which can also be open to a lot of fun improv work. On the other hand playing something that you may not have to think about much and jam a lot can be fun too - such is the case with blues. I've not voted yet because I'm torn between those two.
Homz Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I have the most fun while playing Led Zeppelin.
rocketman Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 you say inbred like its a bad thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyKvD-4IxOY Dueling Banjos went to #2 on the US pop chart in 1973. How cool is that? For me it's the blues though...
myspace.com/jessenoah Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 ive never seen that movie, but i love that song
rocketman Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 ive never seen that movie' date=' but i love that song[/quote'] Classic movie...a must see!!
Dynadude Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I'd have to go with blues for the fun factor. It takes less practice to play, and there are near endless improvisational opps. If you have a buddy that can play a decent chord progression, you can jam and they'll feel like takin' the show on the road.
Old Deadhead Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Bluegrass allows as much improv as blues. TRy it on a 12 string for a different sound. Rock a billy is a lot of fun too
Rocker_Gamma Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 for me' date=' i really get a kick out of playing the blues. metal is my favorite style to play, but the blues is the most fun to improvise and jam with. what about y'all?[/quote'] +1 I'm going to have to agree with you on that.
daveinspain Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I had to go with blues bcause its easier and I can actually make like I know what I'm doing... Next choice would have been Classic Rock. I'm learning some Zepplin tunes now.... Love it!!!
Mark Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 the funnest to play is rock-a-billy' date=' country hick inbread oakie music but zeppelin style british blues rock is my favorite[/quote'] Yep......Me too!
