sellen
Saw this article about Gibson factory string height settings at the 12 fret. 5/64"(ca 2mm) bass side 3/64"(ca 1,2mm) treble side. Well my Gibson's didn't come with that setting, way higher. So i tried it out, way to much fret buzz for my liking. Do i need i fret job? Anyway i worked my way up to 2,2 mm on bass side and 1,8 on treble side. Still a little bit buzz when i play hard, but way easier to play than my old setting that was a bit higher. What string height have you at 12 fret? Do you want it total buzz free? recorded the sg unplugged with my phone, can hear some buzz but i guess that's to be expected when hitting the strings hard http://soundcloud.com/sellen/01-phone
surfpup
That treble side measurement is too low - should be 4/64. I shoot for .078 and .063 (the same as 5/64 and 4/64)but generally end up higher - .08 and .07 at least. You will not eliminate acoustic buzz altogether until you get to slide guitar height! Your recording sounds perfectly acceptable to me. More important is that no buzzing (or more likely fretting out) occurs as you bend strings in the upper register. That is what usually causes me to raise the strings above those target heights.
BigKahune
. As Sellen mentioned 5/64" bass, 3/64" treble at 12 is generally given as Gibson factory spec. My setup goes a bit lower than that. You might want to check out this interesting info out - http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/gibson-les-pauls/64113-les-paul-factory-setup.html#post1230188 (post #1) . sellen
Thanks for input on the subject Big K and Surfpup You have to got some nice even frets Big K if you can go lower than that. I know it's not a big deal playing plugged, but as i don't wanna bother anybody around where i live i like to play unplugged for the most at home(at least in the evening and night). J.R.M.30!
I imagine you have to be careful in measuring the height because the neck might be bowed.

Guest farnsbarns
yeah, we all know that guitars are plucked, not bowed. Now, I refuse to use the well known three letter acronym but I really did laugh out loud at this.
Extra Musical
Hold down the 1st string(E) at the first fret and look at the height at the 12th fret, should be .09(yes, the most popular e string electric guage) I always straigten the neck to make the space even less, only on the likes of a Framus and of course Gibson and other high end guitars. J.R.M.30!
Ha Ha HA. I meant the neck might be warped and make the measurements skewed, that's all. :)
