WTB and Need Information on a 1979 blond, ES 335, block inlays, all original, mint condition.

A. How rare is it versus later years?

B. What price range are they currently selling for?

Any help on this will be gratefully appreciated.

I have one about the same age. It's not in mint condition, but close: it looks like it's 28 years old, for some reason! I just put new 57 classics in it (Classic Plus in the bridge) and new pots, since one wasn't working right.

A few years ago, I discovered that I had Gotoh pickups in there, and I took it in to a luthier to find out more and try out different pickups. He offered me $1400 for it right there, even though he said the guitar probably had been altered before I got it. So I figured it was worth a little more than that.

Hope that helps.
