LarryUK
I was looking at my studio today and wondered if I should have a go at repairing the head damage from a guitar stand. It was like it when I bought it, but is unsightly. Could I rub it down and drop black nail varnish into the gaps and polish it up? What would you do? Searcy
I wouldn't do anything to it. If I just couldn;t live with it U would fix it with black Nitro or not at all.
rct
All of my guitars have awful headstocks. Well, three or four gigging guitars I have left. Cymbals sound best when hit with headstocks. I'd do nothing, because they will get all messed up anyway if I take it out. rct
Riffster
I'd leave it alone.
LarryUK
It's bad that this can happen. I know it's been discussed before. But I can't imagine how I'd feel if it was a new guitar. I'm glad I've read about it in here and all you 'new' owners, take a good look at what a stand/hanger can do. To be honest I'd say it had been on a wall hanger. I've been putting them on stands around the house for more than 20 years and I've never had any stand damage any guitar. I had a couple years where I hung them as well, but I've never like hanging guitars, and none of their necks/stocks suffered for the hanging. I would say "take a good look at what a stand/hanger that you got 10 for $5 at the Five and Below can do to yer good guitars". It isn't the stands and hangers, it's the crappy stands and hangers. rct

I know many players like to display thier guitars but it is a good idea to leave them in thier case when not playing.
