petes
Hi I'm looking real celluloid material to make pick guard for my 1957 Southern Jumbo. I now it's hard to find !!! When I got it there was huge self made pick guard on it. It come quite easily off. You can see those curly figures on a top. Glue have made those. Even it looks bad I like it this way. I think this is my best sounding Gibson. http://s184.photobucket.com/albums/x255/kt6877/Southern%20Jumbo%201957/
StijnV
Why all these difficulties in making a pickguard yourselves, when you can easily order from the following online seller for example? www.pickguardheaven.com Kind regards, Stijn

j45nick
I was surprised to see this guitar with no finish under the pickguard. I thought Gibson stopped doing that years before this.
guitom
I'm fond of this vintage brown celluloid from Axion. Hefty hazmat fee unless you get it precut, but they don't have the precut SJ shape. http://www.axinc.net/028_Vintage_Brown_Pickguard_Material_p/tbv028.htm
