SilverLesterStd Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Good to see you guys again! (feeling like a red-neck Ulysses) I see that the gas attacks still abound here! Hee hee. I've actually been away from the board for that very reason and have only accumulated one (unpassupable) in the meantime. But I am in to going to concerts more often. I saw Rush again this summer - Awesome! Got tix to see AC/DC & Drivin' & Cryin' next month. My son and I can hardly wait! But, I am starting to get real gassy for something with P-90s or H-90s on it. I played a SG Classic which sounded sa - weet! I wouldn't want to rule out the CS335 or (more likely) another LP. Well gotta go for now. My boy will be up in 4 hours or so for breakfast and a spin around the house in the LP & Marshall rig. He's into B.O.C. now and I wanna hear what kind of leads he's put together lately. Any Buck Dharma fans in the house? I had almost forgotten how good he sounds.
MikeRom Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Love the Buck! Not many young folks into BOC. To bad. They're missing one helluva band.
clance Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I love BOC! Fire Of Unknown Origin is one of my favorite albums. Almost every song on that one is a claxsic.
saturn Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Good to see you again. B.O.C. was my first concert. Still love them. I even listed Buck in a recent poll of underrated guitarists and Fire Of Unknown Origin as one of my all time fav albums. So I would say, yeah, I'm a B.O.C. fan too.
BIGBENDS Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I saw RUSH in April of this year and BOC in May. Those were the only 2 shows I saw in '08 and man was I happy enough. Buck and the boys still got it. Rudy Sarzo on bass guitar did a great job. And RUSH? Well, their RUSH!
SilverLesterStd Posted November 22, 2008 Author Posted November 22, 2008 Yes Guitarslinger, one helluva band indeed. One wild facet of B.O.C. was having 3 or 4 guitarists much of the time AND a base player. They were one of the first metal bands, sometimes mixed jazz into their songs and often spoofed their own profession while doing it with great music. Clance - You have great taste in music man. Saturn - Good to see you again as well. Kewl avatar - love the SG Classic! BIGBENDS - I was on B.O.C.'s site last night looking for tour stops near Atlanta. No such luck. The closest is a Florida stop over 500 miles away. I agree with you on Rush. Wow! Those guys still got game! They're my son's favorite (currently) band. He plays so many of their tunes. They're also in my top 5 or 6 bands as well.
