Danny W.
Does the new Gibson Les Paul 1958 V.O.S. Have 17 degrees on the neck angle and 5 degrees on the head? I don't know what the answer is, but I'm pretty sure you have those numbers reversed! Danny W.

Guest farnsbarns
I believe the reissues have closer to 4 degrees on the neck to allow the tail piece to be bolted down to the body.
StijnV
Hi all, Please see below the answer that I sent to Mats regarding neck angles: Regarding the VOS 1958 Lp plain top: the spec is 4½ - 5 degree neck pitch and 17-degree headstock angle. Regarding a 1979 or 1989 Lp Standard, the information below from our archive is useful: “Gibson pitches the peghead 14 to 17 degrees, causing the strings to bear down on the nut. This establishes extremely efficient string vibration which gives better sustain and tuning stability. The 14 degree pitch was used from 1965 to 1973, in 73 they went back to 17. Current models have 17 degree pitch.” Regarding the guitars from 1979 and 1989 we don’t have the neck angle information, so I can’t help you with that however. Kind regards, Stijn
