Kaiser Bill
When I walked in the music store I immediately wanted this guitar. Something about its appearance grabbed me. I bought it before I ever played it. Its been a great investment and conversation piece. Its great for western swing or standards. I upgraded the tuners with Grover Imperials as I did on my J200, and added a "Tune-o-matic" bridge for better intonation.
Vinlander
It is a very good guitar indeed, I have a 1995 Joe Pass from Samick I slightly modified and it is a great player.
Kaiser Bill
Yep... I've installed a tune-o-matic bridge and Grover Imperial heads on the tuners. I also removed the signature from the pick guard and painted the back of it because it was almost transparent.
Red 333
The Joe Pass is a very well-regarded guitar. Hope you enjoy yours. Red
Kaiser Bill
Thanks Red... I've enjoyed it for the past 6 years or so.
kidblast
They are nice guitars Bill, I had one, and I loved the way it sounded, but I found the nut a bit too thin for my hands, and add to that feedback was a pretty big issue for me. I eventually upgraded to an ES135 which worked far better for what I needed. However, I have an Emperor Regent (similar compliant with the width @ the nut, but I don't think I'll ever sell this one.) Kaiser Bill
Kid... I gotta be honest... I am totally lost. Your statement about the nut being to "thin" for your hands went right over my head. I don't have the slightest idea what you mean. I've played the guitar at some pretty hefty volumes, and never had a problem with feedback. Same for the J-200. Never a feedback problem.
