V-man Posted July 25, 2012 Share Posted July 25, 2012 1979 "Block Inlay" Flying V - Block Inlays over Ebony Fretboard - 1970s Profile "Rounded" headstock (opened Pandora's Box with the KH sig) AND 1988 Flying V 90 - 1958 Style body with back relief cutaway - 25.5" scale Ebony Fretboard with 24 Frets - Split Diamond Inlays with neck binding - Nashville bridge stringthrough or Steinberger bridge (omit this one) - Bill Lawrence Humbucker - Stupid Steinberger leg rest for those who don't know how to play a V (omit this too) OR 1989 Flying V Double As the '88 V90 above, but: - Bill Lawrence Single coil/Humbucker Set - No binding on fretbord - Available as Nashville Bridge String Through OR Floyd Rose Tremolo (non-recessed) It would be awesome if they offered an '88 Single Stringthrough and an '89 Tremolo (though the 89 Stringthrough PG is more attractive than the '88). Hell it would be awesome if they offered either, but I won't hold my breath. I'll just keep buying the old ones until Gibson wants my money. They really should do the Block at least. There are next to zero out there and they just released a round headstock. Minimal effort on their end and a guaranteed hit. What do you think? Any others? A Flying V Standard gloss, with aged gold pearl Trapezoid inlay, and the old Gibson goblet of fire head stock inlay just above the truss rod cover... pick up covers installed, toggle switch ring, and a vibrola. or stop bar to be spec'd at the dealer choice of black, red, white.
