MichaelR
Hi, I just acquired an amazing Collings OM42 Brazilian/ Adi. Although I use my SWD live, Id like to plug in the Collings at home through my Fishman Loudbox Artist. . I don't want to drill the Brazilian! I'm looking at the Baggs M80 and the K and K Meridian Pro. The Baggs fits in the soundhole and the K and K is a clip on mic. Anyone have experience with these? Thanks in advance.... duluthdan
No experience with it, but hear wonderful things about the M-80. Thinking of one as a replacement for the Seymour Duncan mini-mag I have in the soundhole of my J-45.
EuroAussie
No experience with these. On the two guitars in the stable that dont have a pickup I use a Fishman Rare Earth Blend which can be installed in about 1 minute. Nice tone also, being able to belnd the mike and pickup combo. kidblast
whats the verdict on the seymour dan? I've had a few Duncan drop in pickups - they sound good but they tend to get in the way at times. I finally just installed a fishman matrix, no real mods to the cosmetics but there will need to be a hole bored into the base where the jack/strap pin needs to go
MichaelR
Thanks for the replies. Rare Earth Belmd is now in the mix.....
ryanfender
You could install the K&K Pure with the vintage jack. No drilling.
Run
I had K&K Passive Bridge Plate Pickups (No Preamp) installed in a Normand B-20 (sold) and I liked it because it sounded as if the guitar sound was amplified using a microphone. No power lost even if you let the guitar plugged but no treble, bass, contour, controls on these using three piezo pallets glued under the bridge..(easy to install). duluthdan
whats the verdict on the seymour dan? The pickup does ok when it works, the volume and mix control wheels are inconsistent, lots of scratches and pops - enough to know that something is amiss. I have a Rare Earth in another guitar that I like more. I do not want to bash any product, but the Seymour Duncan Min-Mag I have has a low rating in my book. MichaelR
1343306299[/url]' post='1233417']You could install the K&K Pure with the vintage jack. No drilling. It would be my first choice, but Collings glues in the strap button, so I hear its a bit of a job to get it out. Other than that i wouldnt mind the vintage jack with the smaller input

QuestionMark
I use a Fishman Rare Earth Humbucker. I move it between guitars. Takes seconds. Its never left a scratch. I let the cord just hand out of the guitar...I think it looks cool. The pickup sounds great. I actually have two in case I bring two guitars to a gig and want to switch off. I'm of the opinion that no pickup actually realistically captures the true acoustic sound...however, the Fishman Rare Earth Humbucker produces a good sound for an acoustic pickup. Just my two cents.
