CR9
Does the serial number on the chambered Reissues the Custom Shop make start with aCR? Yes the Chambered Reissue serial numbers from Gibson Custom start with a "CR". There are also other chambered guitars from the Custom shop that have serial number that start with a "CS" but they are not part of the "Historic" series. The CR guitars started in 2004. Mats A
Thanks! My 1958 V.O.S made in 2011 has no CS in front just the serial number. But it has the certificate.

AXE®
Custom Shop isn't always a Historic. A Historic is always Custom Shop.
Mats A
Ok so no R7 R8 and R9 and so on has CS in their number. Just more special guitars Like the Alex lifeson model maybe.
Tim Plains
CS is for regular production Custom Shop models. Artists' models (maybe not all) have serial numbers that begin with the person's initials. MB for Mike Bloomfield, AL for Alex Lifeson, etc.
