surfpup
So the Fed Ex guy delivered my Strymon El Capistan tape echo today. I only got a few minutes with it so far, but it's pretty impressive. I can't imagine what it wont do echo wise. It sounds good right away and I have only scratched the surface of its features. I haven't even gotten to the "hidden" knob features like tape crinkle yet. Californiaman
Ooh, shiny new El Cap. You know you're going to be busy with that for a while. Hey... what's that lil thingy switch button do? Now go surfing. Or golf.
kaleb
Great score! I'd buy one too, but I don't use much delay (or reverb, for that matter) anymore. With my style of playing, it's better if I use a dry tone (although I use chorus sometimes, as well as my other full-frontal effects!). But sometimes, ya' need a little extra air and moisture, so I'll have the soundman add delay/reverb at the board if need be. If I had one, I'd turn the repeat control all the way up and let the oscillations and warping fly! And then I'd turn on a phaser or flanger (your Small Stone and Electric Mistress would be awesome for this) and take it to the next level! Let's face it, I like making spaceship noises.... surfpup
Now go surfing. July in Florida = flat... until we get a hurricane. We don't have a Newport wedge. I should have some time to play with this sucker.
EVOL!
Nice board, Surf. Congrats on the pedal. I can see that noise maker being a Pandora's box of sonic adventures. Be careful not to get too lost in it or you'll wake up and have missed a week of work (not that that's a bad thing; until HR calls wondering where the heck you've been). Riffster
Did it come with the click-less switches? the only ones I have seen have a rounded tip.
Dub-T-123
Yeahhhh! Such an amazing pedal. Enjoy it!
surfpup
Did it come with the click-less switches? the only ones I have seen have a rounded tip. Yes. At first I was not sure they were, since the have the sharp edge. But they are indeed clickless... A plus since the left one can be used for infinite repeats. Riffster
Better for recording in a room if you want to use the pedal. My VFE Tremolo has one and at first I did not what to make of it but now I wish all my pedals had clickless switches.
