jedzep
Is that right? I remember a guitar I got not too long ago from fedex and it had a little gizmo on it that registered if the package was subjected to a shock. It's kind of too late for this particular guitar but the incident is instructive about the kind of agreement you should seek with the seller so if something happens you have already agreed on the remedy/responsibilities. No kidding. That's a useful tool for Fedex to ward off accusations of damage. Since the shipper can't see what condition the guitar is in inside the box, they can't guarantee it was packed in good condition. UPS will pack for you at great cost, but would cover shipping damage. Motherofpearl
Never thought of it that way! It's the case that has an odor. Came home tonight guitar smells fine. Maybe it's the chemicals you talk about I dunno but I felt the carpet and nothing has been spilt on it.
Motherofpearl
Update:here's where it stands I send the guitar back on my own money and get a full refund so I lose $100 or I keep the guitar? I'm trying to get a deal on it but te seller won't write me back. I have fallen in love with this piece and am unsure what to do. This one is a real joy to play! I can't put it down damaged and all. Sounds fantastic and feels RIGHT! Someone help me out here is it worth the trouble? Jamie

merseybeat1963
Looks like it was dropped from a high distance on to that end. I cant really tell from pictures but the bottom of the guitars rim has collapsed in..yes? Unless you get to keep it dirt cheap Id wash my hands of it.. Fed Ex is gonna ask is it repairable & you gotta say..it will always be a damaged guitar no matter how its patched up. (If the box shows no damage, Fed ex may say it was that way... by the way) I spent 6 1/2 hours packing the reel to reel I sent to Ireland..I made reinforced handles in the sides of box with arrows on top saying handles here so it was easy to handle...the full bull. Good considerate sellers usually put a lot of effort into packing well.
Motherofpearl
I'm trying to get it cheap with no response. I have till next Friday to contact the seller before I ship it back. ParlourMan
I'd cut and run from that, unless I was getting it at a price you see 'project guitars'
Gruffchris
The sellers probably not getting back in contact with you, cause he knows he's ripped you off. I don't know if I'd be as forgiving.
Motherofpearl
Ya I hear ya! I definatly would not be paying much I offered 200 for it. Too bad the sellers a moron ruined a great guitar!
jedzep
There are times when I'd establish a price for a pro repair and then tack on an 'aggravation fee', but I think this is the kind of damage that could really compromise the future integrity of the guitar, especially a lightly constructed model like the L00. You bear a little of the responsibility for responding to a listing like that with a payment, but hey, a lesson learned. I'd try and establish that he shipped it like that and hoped you wouldn't notice, and therefore someone should also reimburse you for shipping. Otherwise, ship it USPS 'economy', for cheap. I'm sure if you dropped a mirror in there you could see a flashlight shine through. It would be difficult to push the arc of the bottom back into 'round' and count on it staying that way. Not saying I couldn't be wrong, but here's a fish I'd throw back, and go back shopping. Your other guitars'll keep you happy on hold. Right? Motherofpearl
Ya Jedzep Your right! I've tried everything with eBay and the seller to get this right it's taken a month. I've bought many guitars off there without issue. This seller has 7 negative feedback since this happened of in shipped items so they have obviously went on a sabbatical. Maybe I'll keep the guitar and send them an envelope :)
527
Send it back, get your refund. $100 is not a big deal. A busted tailblock is.
