flatbaroque
Here's an old song of mine. But new to you fellers unless you were in a couple of dingy Sydney pubs about 15 years ago.Nothing special about the guitar parts except using a G add d ? shape...320033 as a moveable chord.Makes a nice alternative to a full bar chord or a first position chord. Anyway take a "Captain Cook" if you feel so inclined.A bit of rhyming slang for our British mates who are about to give us a wonderful Olympics. Lyrics Takes an edgy man to count his chances one by one Place them on a footstool then call for his gun Aim it at St Christopher hanging on the wall Saying Chris old buddy you’ve done it, you’ve gone and let me fall for another girl in a uniform despatching cards since she was born and it never rained in Paris when my throat was razor dry I never got your letters, must have passed me by Could it be that you were thinking I was stepping out With some brass button girl who never had a doubt Kindness linked to a balance sheet Counting the days till her release There’s a hundred thousand men all beating to your path That’s a hundred thousand kisses blowing a chilly wind Across my back There’s a border down the middle of some crazy Mexico town One side’s cut and thrust, the other’s just falling down Which side do you live in? Do you really care? Is it four walls that you want if the spirits are not there Heard you been practicing Alchemy Mixing doses of history It takes a weary man to sing a broken song About the time the idea sank that maybe he was wrong It never rained in Paris when my throat was razor dry Never got your letters guess they couldn’t fly There’s a hundred thousand men all queueing for your smile Where do I begin to ever walk down your aisle It takes an edgy man to count his promises one by one Place them on a footstool and then call for his gun But Little Eve was laughing when she saw you pull that stunt Deep down she knew you just wouldn’t have the front To give up a girl before the noose was hung Couldn’t even wait till the trap was sprung And it never rained in Paris when my throat was razor dry I never sent you letters I didn’t even try

texastrummer
I enjoyed that. Well Done! Nice way to start my Saturday. And thanks for the tip on moving that G chord shape. I use that variation of G often but never thought of moving it. That's cool!
flatbaroque
Thanks guys.Appreciate the comments.Noticed I already have my 1 dislike on youtube.I always get one for every clip I post...haha...my vanity says its the same cyber stalker each time whom I've managed to p off somehow on the forum with some lame attempt at humour... TS I often move different open chord shapes up the neck...just needs a bit of right hand control to hit the correct strings to get a good result...if that makes sense. Cheers.
