Bongoscot
Today at a book store I found one that I really like called Guitar Techniques. Looks like it is out of the UK. It is a little pricey at 16 bucks but it has a ton of good lesson info and a cd to accompany the lessons and jam tracks. Has anyone else here used this magazine? Is it consistantly this good or did I just luck into a good issue? If it is I want to subscribe. I get frustrated with GW as it seems to lean more towards kissing artist butt than anything. I still read it regularly because there is just not much else out there for us. This new one I found I can see will keep me busy for months with these exercises which makes it worth it to me. Are there any other really good guitar magazines hiding out there waiting for me to find them?

Acoustic Guitar is cool too if you are into that sort of thing.
Versatile
There are a few Guitar mags around...more or less specialised I have purchased it in the past (Guitar Techniques) Currently I have a sub with 'Total Guitar' from the same publishing group A bit 'overly metal' for my taste but much good stuff and gear reviews... Dennis G
I buy Guitar Techniques on the newstand depending on the content in any given month. Sometimes I just have no interest in the material covered, other times, I like it a lot. I subscribe to Guitar Player for the same reasons BillyBob mentioned, plus they do some pretty decent gear reviews every month. Can't remember the last time I bought a Guitar World. I don't buy them, but kill time at Barnes & Noble now and then scouring over Fretboard Joournal and Premier Guitar.

quapman
You need to have something' whilst sitting on the thunderbowl. Lol,,, I was going to post that I haven't bought a guitar mag in 20 years. But there is some real truth in this post... I may have to start buying them again, my thunderbowl literature is boring. Flyers ain't cuttin it... lol Good one Axe. LarryUK
I only buy them if there's something in it I really want to read. The prices are silly. I really can't believe the cost of computer game mags. Such a rip off for kids.

surfpup
I like Premier Guitar pretty well - mostly for the gear related stuff. I have no patience for the lessons in tab unfortunately.
CoreyT
Since I got back into Guitars after not playing for 30 years this past April, I have been buying Guitar Player and Guitar World at the grocery store. I have seen Premier Guitars reviews on YouTube, but I did not realize they had a print edition. Thanks Surfpup, another $30 just spent, got a one year subscription to try it out. Twice the price of the other two mags, hope it has great content. Edit, forgot to add that I just got subs to GP & GW last week too. Cheaper than buying them every month, it was like $15 each for a year to get a sub.
1998StandardSG
A while ago I would get either GW or GP and after the years went by it seemed like it was write ups about the same guitarist so I just quit buying them. Maybe they are better now.
