a7d7e7
Hey folks ...... I saw a used Les Paul for sale on Craigslist. The serial number says it was built in 2003. The ad says it is a Standard, but STANDARD is not stamped on the truss rod cover. I sent the seller an email and he said it has Burstbucker pick ups. He also said many Standards don't have STANDARD on the truss rod cover. What do you guys think? Mark
drew365
I don't know about that guitar, but my '07 Standard has a plain TRC.
CowboyBillyBob1
Many if not most LP Standards do not have Standard imprinted on the TRC. In fact many owners put a plain one on to make it look more "real". Burstbuckers would be on a Standard from 2003.
Jon S.
The LP Standard came with a blank truss rod cover from 2002-2008.
Kaiser Bill
Yep...mine is an '03 and it was plain. Smoother than a peeled egg.
CowboyBillyBob1
The LP Standard came with a blank truss rod cover from 2002-2008. The LP's made in the 50s were also blank along with a bunch of other years. I think the blank one is more common.

GibSinCity
Who doesn't change the Standard TRC these days... Why would you change a "Standard" TRC?
a7d7e7
He's asking $1900.00. What should I counter-offer with? That is, of course, after I check it out and I like how it sounds. Mark
Kaiser Bill
$1,900.00 is what mine cost 8 years ago, and pretty much what the new ones cost with the $300 price reduction MF is offering. If its mint...and I mean mint...no pick scratches...then I'd give him the full asking price. I'm sure it isn't so offer 3-5 hundred less. He just wants to recoup 100% of his investment.
