Just wondering, does anyone know what comes with the SG Faded?

I know you get a gig bag, but i remember a friend of mine getting a Les Paul Standard and getting a little pack with a cleaner, strap, cloth, lead etc. I presume for the budget price of the Special you don't get these, but thought maybe at least a strap? or something?

Any info would be great, thanks for reading

Nah man, other than the manuals, QC checklist and MAYBE a truss rod tool (I know they don't include them anymore), you shouldn't get much with it.

Even with a Standard, they don't give you much. I think you may only get the cleaner, cloth, and lead with a Custom Shop LP. Never heard of straps being included.

Another quick question:

What gig bag do they come with nowadays? is it THIS one?

i know they did come with a kinda flimsy, more shaped one a few years ago when i was lookin in a guitar shop, but cant find any pics of any other ones.

any answer would be appreciated,

thanks for reading

I think just a gig bag,but if you buy from a store, you could try and deal with salesman to throw in a strap pr something to seal the deal

Mine came with I think the one you're talking about. Made in China, white nylon interior, foam on the inside of the material was pretty thin, but hey the store didn't have any HS SG cases that day and they were selling these for $30 so I took it. I recommend you get a hard-shell case. If you're on a budget, you can pick up a Musician's Gear SG case for only $50 online (guitarcenter.com, musiciansfriend.com, basically any site like that). It's a pretty good case for the price and it gets the job done.

My used 2006 Faded came with that gig bag, but I bought a TKL HSC for it. It is actually a very nice gig bag. It has a black plush interior and is pretty thick. It also still had the truss rod tool as well.

that's why i ask, as a friend of mine had that gig bag and i remember it being very sturdy and well padded. as for the other one, i remember them being abit crappy. if anyone has bought a new one recently i'd be interested to know what gig bag theirs came with.

thanks

I got mine about a year ago. It came with the Gibson manual which can be found on the website as a pdf, a truss rod tool combined with a cross head screwdriver end and a gig bag.

My gig bag isn't quite the same as the one in the picture. It's less triangular than the one you've found and the pocket is at the base of the bag rather than sideways on in the middle. The pocket has a velcro outer compartment and a zipped inner compartment. It has carry handles plus back pack style straps. I can't compare the thickness of the foam because I haven't seen one of the others but it seems quite firm. I would say the foam itself is about half an inch thick. If you're worried about protection, no gig bag is going to compare with a case.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about what comes with it. The guitar itself is magnificant.
