Murph Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Oxymoron. Didn't buy it. Pretty sure I won't. Yep. Murph.
Riffster Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I thought about it but feel weird buying a Guns and Roses CD were only Axl is the original member and especially the way things ended. To me, the core of Guns and Roses was Axl, Izzy and Slash. Their songwriting and individual contributions was the main ingredient of that band. If Axl had released the CD under his own name I would most likely buy it but this isn't Gn'R. I will always remember how good Guns and Roses was in their short run and forget all the drama afterwards. I am glad to have seen them live at thier peak...
deepblue Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I would rather go to a Barry Manilow concert and give Barry a reach around after the show then have anything to do with GNR.
surfpup Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Don't even think I'll bother to download it illegally.
:oilpit: Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 4 copies 1 on iTunes 1 CD 1 vinyl and 1 for gift It is F-ing amazing
guitar_randy Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 ...and what's the verdict? Not me You can hear all songs on their myspace page tho Not for me t'all Alot of piano in there I don't even know who beside axl is in that band
retrosurfer1959 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 You go Oilpit 4 copies huh? just remember the fine line between fan and stalker. And that would be no for me heard it once and already tired of it before it was even released.
HeadCase Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 F... yeah! I bought it! C'mon guys don't be embarrassed. I think it's great! I'm suprised. I thought it would be puke. Pretty good for a "control freak and a bunch of no-names". My thinking is that the "Axl haters" either never really liked GnR or are just jumping on the "bandwagon"(Axl is a ******-bag through circumstance). Who gives a F...? I like it anyway. Guitars are way better than I anticipated. It's not for everybody.... I don't see people standing in line to bash all the other crap out there. Where's my Pepper?
hfdoll Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I would rather go to a Barry Manilow concert and give Barry a reach around after the show thenhave anything to do with GNR. I'm with you - only I would rather drink turpintine, and piss in a brushfire!

LT ED Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Not a chance . Same old. If that took 15 years what did they do for the other 14 years 10 months?
DamienAzrael Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Yeah...I bought it....And it's great....Most people that have a problem with it are stuck up old men or stupid kids that wouldn't know a good song if it slapped them in the face...GN'R is my favorite band and Slash was the reason I started playing guitar to begin with, but I can still appreciate the album for what it is....I think everyone misses the old GN'R, but I don't think everyone reads album credits either....Axl has always had a lot to do with the songwriting in GN'R...The saddest part about all the people who talk trash about Axl is none of you have gone anywhere with music...You all just sit here and talk out your asses like your opinion means anything to the people you talk about...If half of you could back up your own **** by writing good songs and going out on tour a few times instead of just talking you might be somewhere other than playing in your garage or running your mouths in a chatroom.

Music and art are strange like that...everyone has an opinion about them. It is what makes them art. Life would be pretty boring if we all had to tow the party line and walk in lock step. You are free to express your opinions, but don't go around insulting others for doing so. And don't take the trash talk about Axl and Co. so personally. Hero worship is overrated and emotionally draining. It isn't worth it. Do you think Axl would lift a finger to defend or help you? He wouldn't give you the time of day.
DamienAzrael Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 It's not hero worship Bluemoon....I'm just stating information about the band that most people overlook....As for anybody who sits on their *** in a forum talking **** about people like him or anybody else that's actually out there doing something when they've never gone and done anything is pretty weak....I could also care less what people think of my opinions as well....I'm just here saying what I want to say....Just like you.

Right, but you don't have to insult others that do.
DamienAzrael Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Not like I singled anyone out....If I did that would be worse....I made a generalized statement....Not saying anybody has to like it or agree with it. -Damien
deepblue Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Most people that have a problem with it are stuck up old men or stupid kids that wouldn't know a good song if it slapped them in the face. Its official... Im a stuck up old man....Im okay with that.

I have no problem admitting that I woke up early yesterday, on my one day off of the week that I usually use to stay in and catchy up on my rest, to buy Chinese Democracy. It's been a long time coming and it's finally here. I agree, a lot of people jump on bandwagons because it's supposedly 'cool to hate' something. Whenever a group is popular people like to bash them. Don't forget the original members of GNR left over 'Creative Differences' too. Funny thing is, look what the other members of GNR did with Velvet Revolver. You know, "Slither" really does sound like something tha could have been on Chinese Democracy. Maybe now the former members of GNR could be in the sameheadspace to work with Axl musically again. In either case, good record. If people don't quite get it now, they'll get it in a few years. Sometimes it takes a while longer for others to catch up.
Riffster Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 In all fairness this should have been poll with 3 options: -Yes -No -Don't care I was not a Gn'R fan anyway.
surfpup Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 .Most people that have a problem with it are stuck up old men or stupid kids that wouldn't know a good song if it slapped them in the face. I guess that's possible. Or they could be knowledgeable people who just don't like the same things you do.
DamienAzrael Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 In all fairness this should have been poll with 3 options: -Yes -No -Don't care I was not a Gn'R fan anyway. You're right...That would have been smarter.
