GuitarJunkie
Really depends on what type of music you're playing.
El Dragyn
All depends on what tone you're looking for.

deelaz
i go with the 57 classics for sure...but whats the difference between the plus and the regular 57 classic?
Space Pup
I prefer the '57 classics too, It's great all round pickup. Â The '57 pluss pickup is just a little hotter.

FennRx
i like having the stock PUs in my SG. i think they can handle gain a lot better- in case i wanna break out something heavier than 70s rock. but the 57s are pretty cool.
deelaz
i like the 57's better than the 490/498, the clarity from the 57's is very nice, its like a single coil pups with really fat and hot sound, but if you are into the metal stuff the 490/498 are perfect! AS90
57's all the way. I was thinking of taking the EMGs and black hardware off my Showcase and adding some 57s and nickel. I also have a G400 which is going to have some GFS Mean 90s.
Space Pup
If you take the EMG's out definetly put '57's in. The tone you get from the '57s in a '61 reissue is amazing .
