bluesguitar65
Made a Big Muff comparison video. Which Muff sounded better to you, current Electro Harmonix Big Muff or the General Guitar Gadgets Big Muff clone triangle version?
bonzoboy
I have one of the very early Muffs from aroung 1970 and I wouldn'have anything but that. The new E-H Muffs are pretty good representations but don't have quite the richness of tone of the classics. Dub-T-123
I was a little confused following the switching, but it seems to me that the EHX Muff is more midscooped and has more treble. It seems to have a little more gain than the clone too. They both sound cool, but I'd plug into the clone :)
Versatile
My gift to the world of Muffery is to place an EQ pedal after the Muff to shape tone to taste... I find the USA Muff quite grainy and prefer a smoothed out tone I never bonded with the older Russian Muff...but probably wish I'd kept it, as they are now reaching classic status... Canadian_Charlie
Electro Harmonix Big Muff, I had one in the early 80's hate myself for seling it
surfpup
The triangle era clone is less fizzy. The new reissue sounds harsh to me. So unless I wanted a harsh and fizzy sound (which has its uses) I'd prefer the clone.
