Thundergod Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I see lots of new people in the forum now... some of the old regulars are not here and some of the new ones remind us of Lynyr Skynyrd... but that's subject for a whole different thread. So how are the new ones liking the forum and how are the old ones keeping up with all the new faces and AXE's always changing avatars?

I am getting along fine albeit being very busy with other things. I have been recording some new arrangements - that is about it.

SRV-Zeppelin Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Nice do, Thunder! Things are still going well up here in Canada, thanks for asking... anything new in Ecuador?
SRV-Zeppelin Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 By the way, +1 on the AXE comment... Just decide on one for Pete's sake! Although I do think your original avatar was the best.

But how do obtain the legendary status that Lynyr Skynyrd must have?
Dynadude Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I guess I'm one of the newbies here, and I like the atmosphere here for the most part. My only beef would be that it's a little slow most days, but I guess that's to be expected. This is a fairly new forum, and also very specialised. I do appreciate the wealth of knowledge here. I've learned a lot about Gibsons, and how other people choose guitars and accessories. All told, I'd say it's a great forum for the site.
Thermionik Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 myspace.com/jessenoah - for those of us who missed it, what was the geartalk fiasco..... I do recall a few people saying this place sucked and they were going there. Checked it out myself, but it was a bit too self-consciously 'street' for it's own good, and so I didn't bother. So, what kicked off over there.....

MikeRom Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 So how are the new ones liking the forum and how are the old ones keeping up with all the new faces and AXE's always changing avatars? Speaking of changing changing avatars T.G., isn't that another new one you're sporting ? :P
myspace.com/jessenoah Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 myspace.com/jessenoah - for those of us who missed it' date=' what was the [i']geartalk fiasco[/i].....I do recall a few people saying this place sucked and they were going there. Checked it out myself, but it was a bit too self-consciously 'street' for it's own good, and so I didn't bother. So, what kicked off over there..... its funny, the reason the gibson forums got lame was because you couldnt talk about anything unless it related to gibsons obviously the gibson mods didnt want us fueling their competitons fire, you cant blame em so geartalk was great, alot of us gibson regulars free to talk about gibsons, fenders politics, music, WHATEVER then new mods came in @ GT, long story short, tightened the screws down @ GT but gibson did a good job of changing to fit my needs, a trading post, an offtopic area-they really have this place set up nice
Flight959 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 The last few months have seen a huge influx of new members.. Most of the original members are still here! I saw a post by Raptor in the custom section the other day... Remember him guys?... And yes...this site is slower than ever with some days better than others.. Flight959
Thermionik Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Ahhhh..... thanks for that - now I understand. Moderators. Hmmmm. It's a fine balance between anarchy leading to libel and regimented order leading to stagnation. Uncle Frank knew what was coming..... It is also my responsibility to alert each and every one of you to the potential consequences of various ordinary everyday activities you might be performing which could eventually lead to *The Death Penalty* (or affect your parents' credit rating). Our criminal institutions are full of little creeps like you who do wrong things...and many of them were driven to these crimes by a horrible force called MUSIC! Our studies have shown that this horrible force is so dangerous to society at large that laws are being drawn up at this very moment to stop it forever! Cruel and inhuman punishments are being carefully described in tiny paragraphs so they won't conflict with the Constitution (which, itself, is being modified in order to accommodate THE FUTURE). I bring you now a special presentation to show what can happen to you if you choose a career in MUSIC...The WHITE ZONE is for loading and unloading only...if you have to load or unload, go to the WHITE ZONE... you'll love it...it's a way of life...Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha...Hi, it's me, I'm back.
