Versatile
Lots of vague questions.... A serial number will permit more accurate identification Looks like a nice guitar...value will depend on exact model, country, mint condition etc V
kapepper
Lots of vague questions.... A serial number will permit more accurate identification Looks like a nice guitar...value will depend on exact model, country, mint condition etc V Thanks! The serial number is 11431747 on the looks i would say that it is a 63 reissue, but the warranty card only indiates the serial number and that strange code: ESDYATENH1 (above the serial number) the guitar is in mint condition... Versatile
There are a few websites including Gibson that offer an identification service A quick click suggests this ES 335 may be May 2011, made in Nashville...(not guaranteed...caution as always) So could be a very recent guitar of high value... badbluesplayer
Thanks a lot! So, everything looks legit, guitar and case? no red flags anywhere? There are a bunch of people on here who can help but they'd probably need more pix. To make sure it looks real, you have to look at the front and back of the headstock and its good to look at the neck and maybe some closer shots of the body. guitarfish
The color is Antique Tea Burst. That's what the "AT" in that code is. I don't know the details on the rest of the code, other than the ES, which obviously means it's an ES body. There's a difference between the ES-335s with "Custom" on the case, and guitars which are made in the Custom Shop. For example, Les paul Custom's aren't necessarily "Custom Shop" guitars. That code means this: Gibson ES-335 Block Inlay Electric Guitar, Antique Tea Burst Gibson Memphis ESDYATENH1. Probably a 2011. If you'd like to confirm for sure ... call Gibson's Customer Support ... I had a similar code when I bought my baby back in January. Called support and they read it off to me - great bunch of guys!

cigblues
Its a 1963 reissue tea burst and yes its valuable. 2600 in English pounds. probably less here. I had no luck with Gibson with determining that my guitar was a Fat boy. Do a google search on the model number and see what you find out.
