rhafe
I'm new here so please forgive a perhaps a really dumb question. I've been looking for a lefty J-200 and some have "Montana" in the description and I'm assuming that means made in the Montana factory. Aren't all new Gibsons made there? Thanks. ParlourMan
Yes it means it was manufactured in Bozeman, Montana at the Gibson acoustic factory.

Thanks. yes, all new gibson acoustics are made in bozeman montana and have been for years - so if a retailer selling a new gibson acoustic describes it as 'montana', he is either not to knowledgeable, or possibly selling a 'montana gold' version of an existing model, which is much less likely. Gibson electrics are made in Nashville. Acoustic with electric pickups, etc are made in MT, of course since they are acoustics for all intents and purposes. G'luck on your search. j45nick
Gibson electrics are made in Nashville. And Memphis, of course. Nothing like the Gibson "Custom Shop" confusion generated thereby.
