Identifying an Epiphone ES-335

Hello,

I was wondering if someone might know of an Epiphone ES-335. Found one in a GC and it was dirt cheap. It was natural maple with a baseball mahogany neck, really baseball bat size. Unfortunately after getting set to buy it, I noticed that the headstock had broken off and was repaired. Not that well either. Is it a particular model? Bummer as it is a style guitar I covet seriously. What a shame!

Thanks

Glenn

I've noticed a real variance in the neck size of MIC semi and hollow-body Epiphones.

A couple of years ago I ordered a (new) standard Casino from on an online dealer. The neck on that thing was colossal - like a '50s Les Paul. I tried to like it for a few months, but could never get used to it and traded it.

Maybe the guitar you found is part of the special run Peter mentioned (above). Or maybe it's just a regular Dot from a run that received one of Epi's "on steroids" necks....

Thanks to all who have suggested the I.D. Maybe I can find one on ebay, unless it is just a steroidal plain dot. This was a light mahogany neck with the darker mahogany section at the bottom where it attaches to the body. Natural maple, closest thing I will be able to afford compared to the original Vintage Gibsons....... Appreciate all of the people who responded!
