Good Les Paul Amp?

Since I plan on buying my first LP this summer, I plan on getting a new amp since I figure hooking it up to a 60x2 line 6 spider III amp wouldnt be right for it,since although it's a powerful amp, it doesn't really fit my musical tastes anymore. What would be a good amp for a les paul that is relatively inexpensive(500-1000)? I'm also into classic rock like Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, The Who, Focus, and Jimi Hendrix if that helps towards the sound I'm looking for.

Anything from the Marshall avt series... not tube amps, they have a tube pre-amp though... wonderfully versatile amps, great Marshall crunch, and good bang for the buck.

Vox and Fender also have wonderful tube amps as well if they fit your style... you can get a Fender princeton (BEST BLUES AMP EVER) for about $1300 new.
