jdgm
I was there! CCR's only U.K. appearance, I must have been 15 and it was brilliant. The video includes footage from another gig too I think. I still have LP of 'Bayou Country'. One of the greatest voices in rock.

kaleb
They sounded exactly like the record. Very tight, too. But I couldn't stop laughing at John's hairdo......
Kennis
Is it just me, or is that LP custom he's using very thick?
Guest rogerb
I saw Credence (minus Fogerty) a few years ago at Starwood in Nashville. They opened for The Beach Boys (minus Brian Wilson). CCR sounded great!!

EVOL!
Not to sound like a broken record, but what an amazing band. Guess I never realized what a killer rhythm section they had. Those cats really set a groove. With songs that good something is bound to be missed. Regarding Doug Clifford's hats, I thought they were sixteen inchers, but if you said they are eighteen I won't argue. Either way those suckers are *huge*. kaleb
It's called a page boy, isn't it? I'm not sure. Speaking of "page", it looked more like a John Paul Jones hairdo!

Back in their day, the were one of the best around. Not really virtuosic wild crazy guitar playing, but man, just hear how tight and together they were! And John's voice was so amazing back then. It's Doug Clifford that kept me smilin'! That groove and his expressions were killer!

tazzboy
i will say that Stu, Doug and Tom were the tightest rhythm section John has ever had. Some guys he has played with have come close, but none has match what those guy in the Original band did.
kaleb
The rhythm section gives the groove! Take AC/DC for example. When Phil Rudd wasn't in the band, it wasn't the same. And when Cliff Williams joined, they became AC/DC. The groove that Phil, Cliff, and Malcolm lay down makes the band.
