Rabs
So im not quite sure how I came by these... But I think both are classic tunes featuring the never mentioned Phil... Now im not a fan of his solo work much.. But theres some classic Genesis tunes.. and the one with Eric.. I love that solo. And even if you dont like him much, Phil can sure bash them drums... :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0WO8XoVWes I love the Spitting Image puppets :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pkVLqSaahk

CoreyT
The puppet one was one of my faves many years ago. Someone did a remake of that song a few years back, may have been Disturbed? The remake sounded good.

Here's one that I don;t say much because it gets all sorts of strange sideways looks but Eric's 80's beer commercial period is really the only stuff I have ever much cared for. FirstMeasure
Clapton, Live at Montreux 1986 with Phil on the drums. One of my personal favorite Clapton performances and Phil has a lot to do with that. I really don't care for Greg Philiganes key sounds or his producing ("August" and "Behind the Sun" are EC's weakest albums IMO, but then "Journeyman" is one of his best, so...) Izzy
Confession...Separate Lives is one of my favorite songs. It is a damn shame that ugly guys can't make it in the industry as easily anymore because who knows what awesomeness we're missing out on. Phil wouldn't have made it in today's shallow E business. He'd have to be behind courtains. Damn television video trash!

proparch
Going off-topic slightly, IMO you need to go back into the mists of the '70s to get Phil at his best - on the drums in the Gabriel / Hackett era Genesis. Some the best drumming I've ever heard. It was significant that when Gabriel left, such was Phil's reputation they got Bill Bruford in to stand in on drums duty on tour. Searcy
I remember reading abut when Peter Gabriel left the band they started auditioning new singers. They would bring in the new guy and Phil would show them how they should sing the song. Then they would try and none of them get it right. Finally the other guys in the band looked at Phil and said "You're singing all these songs fine. You're the new singer." Phil was reluctant about it as I remember it told. The old Genesis stuff is sick. Really fantastic prog rock. As for 80's Genesis, or even Phil's solo material, it's still good. There was a lot of weird experimentation happening with music in the 80's. -Getting away from traditional guitar-bass-drums instrumentation. He's a talented musician. Decades ago Genesis played live in Chicago. Early 80's? A local radio station, WXRT, simulcast it. What an incredible concert and, yes, this was all the original guys. They played for over 3 hours! (maybe close to 4 hours) and I recorded it. I recorded it on reel to reel and then transferred it to cassette to play in my car. Yes, cassette A few years later my house flooded and I lost the reel to reel tapes. Very shortly after that my car was broken into and they stole my really expensive sound system and, possibly more importantly, all my cassettes. 60 or 80 of them including the Genesis tapes before I duped them. Needless to say I was pi#$ed! Yes, Phil's newer pop stuff is really mediocre. But in Genesis he was one phenomenal drummer.
