DO NOT USE MP3tag!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

So, some of you are having issues with crashes. We have traced it to using MP3tag, specifically 2.51 and above. There are certain corruptions to the file that causes our application (and others) to choak. If you need to use MP3 tag, use version 2.5 and below and re-tag your files. This should stop the loading errors that some of you are experiencing.

maybe we should tell this to the developer of mp3tag to let fix this problem.

Is the problem with MP3Tag, or with the software on the SCS.4DJ?

MP3tag. They have a bug that heavily malforms tags. It causes an issue with us and a number of other media player apps.

After a crush before a home session i've read this thread and got rid of the mp3tag...

to undo the sutiation i got tagscanner and looks like everything is back to normal (the unit works even faster, could be because i've untagged more and more files with that program until the scs4dj decided he cant take it any more

anyway, highly recommanded boys and girls

Hey guys,

2 questions :

1) Does anyone have a link do the MP3Tag 2.50. I can only find the 2.32 or 2.39 on this link http://www.mp3tag.de/en/download.html

2) Have you herad about Stamp ID3 Tag editor - http://stamp-id3-tag-editor.en.softonic.com/ . good, bad , wor/ DOESN'T work with SCS.4DJ.

Should I go for any version older then 2.51 of the MP3 TAG (says on this topic it makes the unit to choak) or maybe try another software. Appreciate your help.

Greetings from Rio de Janeiro - Brazil!!

Hi there,

I'm the developer of Mp3tag and just wanted to let you know that I'm not aware of any issues that cause Mp3tag to "heavily malforms tags" (as it's stated above). Also, it seems that this issue never got reported and instead users are advised to stick to a very outdated version.

If you or anybody from the Gibson forums knows more about the issue, please report a bug via via https://community.mp3tag.de

Kind regards
— Florian
