My SG or Strat?

Recommended Posts

My old band is getting back together. We are currently auditioning drummers and bass players. I don't want to take my full rig so I'm deciding what guitar to take. Here are the tunes we are using.

Bad to The Bone

Ever seen the rain

Roadhouse Blues

Born To Be Wild

Hard to Handle

Sweet Home Alabama

Simple Man

What do you think? My SG Standard doesn't have coil splitting, but I'd prefer to play it.

I don't see a single song on that list that requires coil splitting.

Bring the SG and give the rhythm section something to grind to.

I think some guys nearby are totally biased... [biggrin]

I would take the Strat for it's ubiquity and cool looks

A well tweaked Strat or Tele can sound remarkably 'versatile'

And after a song or two...people start to hardly notice the difference... <_<

PS For the uninitiated...select 2 P/U's and roll the tone down...enjoy... [thumbup]
