It such an awesome guitar why are they stopping it ? :-k=P~ =P~

Marketing 102... Create demand by limiting or temporarily halting supply

It's an icon guitar that will always have some demand but not always as much as they would like.

OR

Don't be surprised if the whole range is reduced to take them through the current economic problems.

I'm sure Gibson will not be the only manufacturer taking such action.

Anyway, that's my 2c worth

It's funny when you look at the history of the Firebird model, Gibson never really seems to have sold that many, but they keep coming back as re-issues. The VII will probably come back again in a few years. Let's face it, if you're a Firebird nut, one of things we like about them is that they're relatively rare guitars.

I've always wanted a bird with p-90s' date=' Gibson just doesnt turn out enough guitars with those sweet puppies. I propose a "faded" firebird with p-90s at a entry level price. Probably will never happen, I may be all the demand, but still[/quote']

See, simple obvious ideas like that make so much more sense to me than swiss cheeze V's and Robots galore.
