fretplay
We have been looking at Band in the Box! Well! there is a lot of it and it is very complicated. My son who acts as my recording engineer feels that it would take a week at least to get to grips with it and for me, well! I like to get an idea and then have a couple of guitar and vocal tracks down within a day or two. I was wondering if members have had the same experience and/or have any other ideas on a easier to handle import to percussion and base.
zigzag
I've had Band in a Box for years, but never used it to record. Notes could probably help you with that one.
Dennis G
I bought BIB about 4-5 years ago and after reading the manual, trying to figure it out [confused] plus the learning curve, and a lot of headscratching, it went back in the box where's it's been ever since. +1 on Notes being your go to guy for this one. Just read a review online on BIB 2012 a week or so aga, and it seems the learning curve is as steep as ever.

Same here - I use it to practice with. A great tool especially for practicing jazz, but some of the more conventional backing styles/patterns are very cheesy. There are plenty of extra bells and whistles I don't know how to use. It's quite a trip when you set it to solo in a particular style - Coltrane, Parker, Bill Evans - and it does! A very well programmed piece of software.
