Damn, those are both beauties. Typically I would have gone with the sunburst, but that silver is just to pretty to pass by.

Wow, that's a tough one. For my first LP I wanted to get something out of the ordinary, which is why I got the black cherry one (even though people mistake it for a wine red). So by that logic I'd go with the silverburst, if it's your first LP?

damn. i accidently hit sunburst trying to link it. but i actually like the silver better. that being said, oddly enough as i am a woodworker, i prefer solids in LP

I am not a great fan of these unusual colors Gibson uses once in a while.

Between the 2, I'd go with the Silverburst. Although it looks more like a Goldburst in the pictures. I really hate the Sunburst, looks more like catsup and mustard

You have a great taste in guitars!

 

Personally, I like the sunburst...but it's really bright. Kind of obnoxious. I also HATE gold hardware, I would end up switching it out.

 

The silverburst...I love it, but you either love or hate the vintage ones because of the color. The worst part about silverbursts (but especially the vintage ones) is that everyone associates them with the guy from TOOL (and they're, in IMHO, awful). Being 'that cool dude with the awesome vintage silverburst,' is one thing...being 'that lamer with the Adam Jones fanboy guitar' is another.

 

Whichever one you choose, you can't go wrong. Period.

Ian, I agree with you. First off, I LOVE Tool. They're one of my favorite bands, but I had no idea what guitar the guy used. I never understood the whole "I need to to copy my guitar hero" mentality. I'm not just speaking about Adam Jones and his SB Custom, but all famous players. Page & Slash come to mind...
