Sweet! Funny... when I play mine, it doesn't sound that good.... after all... I spent a LOT of money on it....maybe I should have spend more on lessons, eh?

Or just play it a tip harder. I'm quite sure your Dove has the same wingspan Danvill -

DanvillRob is being modest. He can play anything, and he plays it well. Peter Wheat and the Breadmen shoulda been stars back in the 60's.

Never mind that he was the bass player back then......

Aw, shucks guys..... Nick, you're very kind..... I can play what I can play.

I'm not great, and my singing sucks.

The difference is that none of that bothers me.... I'll play anytime, anywhere.

Many people are just shy and therefore play well in their private places, but can't do it in front of people.... since I have zero pride, (ego?), I'll

pick up a guitar and play for hours on end, without regard for who has to endure it.

Peter Wheat would have 'made it', had we recognized the necessity of original material....but.... not sure that would have been for the best.....

I've lived a great life, and not sure I'd want to change much.

Now that is impressive. Amazing how much warmth that guitar produces for a maple body. Still a tad tight in the bass registers but that is to be expected, with a heluva potential.

Reminds me somewhat of Em7's Firebird sample from some time ago.

I really like it a lot, and sadly never in all my journeys have I come across a Dove yet, would love to play one .... or maybe not, sounds dangerous.

I think that Poney Telecaster is getting better with every sample. His fingerpicking here is really good. Usually lacks a bit of oomph, but he really delivers it here, even in the bass which, as EA says, still needs to open up. Two different patterns too. And if he keeps up with the funnies, he'll be a web legend in no time. Oh. The DIF sounds good too. I could even live with the Kermit if it sounded this good. And if Rob bought it. You did say that you'll PAY anytime, anywhere, right Rob?

Mojo.... I type VERY fast....(just not very well).

Here's how I see it, as you know, I have three short videos on YouTube where I compare my 1979 Dove to my 2003 DIF to my 2011 'Bird-Koa.

Dove is a 'boomer' and I've always thought it could hold it's own against any other guitar in a group....but.... it doesn't have the 'warmth' that the DIF has... and the DIF ain't no slouch on volume, (I tend to play pretty hard).

The 'Bird is TOTALLY different, but it still seems "green" to me, (not like the Kermit DIF...I mean not yet aged).

Rob, any reason why the Dove is less warmer than the DIF ? I imagine they are the same guitar, with DIF having more bling. Or is it because of the Double X bracing of the 70's Dove. While I never played a Dove or DIF from the youtube samples Ive heard and here I must agree that the normal Dove does seem have less warmth in general ( consistent with a maple body) while the DIF is really warm and ballsy. Same with the Firebird.

I love the red stains on Gibson acoustics.

Vince, and you probably know I prefer the natural Maple on the DIF, (or the Dove, for that matter)...but it's all personal preference....

I fell in love with the back of a J200...but wanted a DIF, (for all the bling)... so my DIF is PERFECT for me.

Aw shucks. So the only way I'm getting that DIF is if your bank account number is similar to mine and you type too fast while making an internet deposit. Ah well. The really nice way of dealing with GAS is to hear you chaps play your nice guitars. Looking forward to EA's version of Wide River to Cross on the Buddy Miller AJ in a couple of weeks' time.

I think in the case of my Dove, it's a Norlin-Era Dove...but it's been often-played...and has 30+ years under it's belt.

So I don't think it sounds bad....but I was amazed by how different the DIF sounds, (and it's only got 9 years under it's belt)...

and of course, I don't play the DIF as "hard" as I sometimes play the Dove.

If I typed in your bank account # ILO mine...you STILL wouldn't have enough to buy the DIF!

There aren't any Doves close to you to play?

I guess I'm just spoiled... you can't swing a dead cat in the SF Bay Area without hitting a guitar store!

Doves to try in Hungary? Sure, they have feathers and are best tried with stewed red cabbage and fried potatoes.

Doves to play in Hungary, not so many. Probably none hidden away in private collections either. I suspect the only time you'll see a Dove in Hungary is when KT Tunstall does a gig in Budapest.

I believe that the total GDP of Hungary is about enough to buy one DIF.

5222 Eur from Mr T to my region.... The downside (as if over 5k wasn't already) is you know some cheeky bugger will say to you "is that a Justin Beiber guitar?"

Exactly. More than the total declared GDP for Hungary. If there were a direct additional tax on Justin Bieber downloads, it might increase revenues to the point where the country could afford one DIF, though.

Wonder if they could do a version where the doves had already flown for under 2k.......

Yeah. It's a flat-pack build-it-yourself Beatles tribute model using plain, unfinished timber sourced near Lillehammer. It's called the Norwegian Wood.

I was thinking Doves in Recession model with a couple of tramp doves inlayed with a wee "hungry and homeless. Please help" sign at their feet.

That..is an artistic idea.

With unshaved stubby beards..pint of Jack Daniels..with an optional but removable "homeless smell" packet in the guitar.Nice
