Doom and Gloom is one of two new songs which will feature on their forthcoming greatest hits compilation, Grrr!

The track, which was was produced by Don Was and recorded in Paris, was first played on Radio 2 by Chris Evans this morning.

Fans have taken to Twitter to praise the track with The Charlatan singer Tim Burgess saying: 'They still got it.'

I kind a like it. The Stones are what they are, the junk yard dogs of rock and roll, no one can recreate their sound.

Not a big Stones fan, never have been, but credit where credit is due, they know this business better than anyone possibly could.

It blows my mind, really. It seems no matter what, the Stones CAN always do SOMETHING of value no matter who is a fan or not, and people still recognize it.

As a HUGE Stones fan personally, and as much as I think I know about them musically and have listened and studied, I can't put a finger on any formula, or see a formula that they might use that is a winner to fall back on. Basically, how they do it, I don't know.

There is something I find ultra cool that these guys can be old as hell, even decrepid, and still rock the hell out of poeple beyond what most can do with the most effort they can muster.

I think we need to give a 'cross the board pardon to all Rock Bands that made poor decisions during the Disco Craze.

And what about every other album since?

I've been saying it for over 30 years.

Ronnie Wood killed the Stones and the Stones killed Ronnie Wood.

Just my opinion.

I think they fit together like coconut and pineapple. I like Mick Taylor, and Aftermath is my favorite album, which was totally Brian Jones. But to me the Stones finally found the guitarist they needed with Ron Wood, and Ron's career seemed a little unfocused before joining the stones.

Steel wheels and Vood Doo Lounge were pretty darned good albums.
