My first GIBSON (Les Paul Studio)

autodafe

Recommended Posts

today I found locally a Les Paul Studio

after some bargaining with the owner I managed to lower the price

It's quite good, pickup cover are a bit dusty/damaged but iverall it's a nice guitar

it has been modified to use the two pickups as single coils

Gibson Serial dates it form year 2000 (serial is 01230524)

at first I was worried about it originality (fakes are always around)

But after inspection it looks original. What do you think?

Are tuners original? and the diamond onlays on the neck?

.

Looks genuine to me. Nice LP Studio.

Looks to be in good shape. Beautiful piece of rosewood fretboard.

The intonation screws on the ABR should face the neck, but you can leave it if the break angles are such that the strings aren't contacting the screw heads.

Congrats

Congratulations! It's authentic! My first ever Gibson was a similiar one: '92 ebony boarded, black Studio - gold hardware. I miss it so much! Cheers... Bence

thanks. I lowered the price to 500 euros (he was asking 700€ , including amp and some pedals, and asked 600€ for guitar only)...do you think I got a good price?

In Europe, yes, that's a good price. Put the screws back to the machine heads, otherwise You may have tuning stability issues. Give Her a nice treatment with a quality polish (Gibson's, or Virtuoso) and enjoy Her! :) Cheers... Bence
